An awareness and participation programme for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 was organised today at The Shri Ram Universal School, District Samba

SAMBA, September 9, 2026: An awareness and participation programme for the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 was organised today at The Shri Ram Universal School, District Samba, with the objective of sensitising and encouraging young students to participate in the Government of India’s flagship youth engagement initiative under MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.

During the programme, students in the eligible 15–29 years age group were informed about the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 and the opportunities available to young people through VBYLD 2027. The participants were also encouraged to register themselves on the MY Bharat platform and participate in the Viksit Bharat Quiz.

The VBYLD 2027 selection journey was explained to the students in a simple and detailed manner. The first stage is the online Viksit Bharat Quiz, followed by the Essay Writing Competition for shortlisted participants. The next stage is the District Championship/PPT Round, where selected youth get an opportunity to present their ideas. Successful participants then progress to the State-level VBYLD, followed by the National Dialogue, where selected young leaders get an opportunity to present their ideas at the national level and engage with senior national leaders, including the Hon’ble Prime Minister.

The current VBYLD 2027 Quiz is being conducted through the MY Bharat platform, with the official listing showing the quiz as a 20-question online quiz for the VBYLD 2027 programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Singh Charak, MY Bharat Resource Person, J&K, said that VBYLD is a unique platform through which young people can move beyond being mere spectators and become active contributors to the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

He encouraged the students to take the first step by registering on MY Bharat and participating in the Viksit Bharat Quiz. He further explained that participation in MY Bharat activities helps young people build their participation record and profile on the government’s youth engagement platform, opening opportunities to engage in various youth-oriented activities, volunteering, experiential learning and national programmes.

Shri Vivek Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat, MoYAS, interacted with the students and spoke about the objectives and significance of VBYLD 2027. He also briefed the students about the participation process and encouraged maximum youth participation from District Samba. Students were facilitated in registering for and participating in the Viksit Bharat Quiz.

The programme also provided an opportunity for students to learn about the broader role of MY Bharat, a Government of India initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India aimed at empowering and engaging young people through opportunities for participation, experiential learning and youth development. MY Bharat was established in 2023 as a national platform for youth engagement.

Ms. Shivani Vaid Sharma, Headmaster, The Shri Ram Universal School, expressed her gratitude to the MY Bharat Department, Shri Vivek Kumar and Sushil Singh Charak for visiting the school and introducing students to this important national initiative.

She appreciated the opportunity provided to students in the 15–29 years age group, stating that such programmes can help young people understand their role in nation-building and provide them with a meaningful platform to share their ideas for the future of India.

The programme concluded with an appeal to eligible youth to actively participate in VBYLD 2027, register on the MY Bharat platform and make the most of the opportunities available under the initiative.
