Tennis Aryna Sabalenka And Frances Tiafoe Enter Semifinals Of US Open In New York

In US Open Tennis, Defending women’s singles champion and top seed Aryna Sabalenka has advanced to the semifinals after overcoming sixth seed Linda Nosková of the Czech Republic in a thrilling quarterfinal. Sabalenka prevailed 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 in a tightly contested match last night.

In the men’s singles, 11th seed Frances Tiafoe booked his place in the last four after defeating fellow American Alex Michelsen in a five-set thriller. Tiafoe won 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 in an all-American quarterfinal.
In other women’s singles quarterfinals, third seed Jessica Pegula will take on 26th seed Emma Navarro in another all-American clash this morning, while fourth seed Coco Gauff will face fifth seed Mirra Andreeva of Russia today. Second seed Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan will be up against China’s Qinwen Zheng in the other quarterfinal. In the men’s singles, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz of Spain will take on eighth-seeded American Ben Shelton this morning.
