Union Home Minister Amit Shah today paid tribute to Param Vir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra on his birth anniversary. In a social media post, Mr Shah said that in the Kargil War, Captain Vikram Batra not only captured strategically vital peaks but also elevated the morale of his fellow soldiers to the skies through his unparalleled leadership and valour. He added that Mr Batra, who laid down his life for the nation at the young age of 24, will continue to inspire everyone to place the welfare of the nation above everything else.
