LS Speaker Pays Tribute To Company Quartermaster Havildar Abdul Hamid On His Martyrdom Day

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today paid tribute to Param Vir Chakra awardee Company Quartermaster Havildar Abdul Hamid on his martyrdom day. In a social media post, Mr Birla said that Abdul Hamid displayed indomitable courage and exceptional combat skills during the 1965 India-Pakistan War and made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.

Mr Birla said that with his courage and presence of mind, Abdul Hamid destroyed several enemy tanks and remained steadfast on the frontline despite adverse conditions. Mr Birla said that by making the supreme sacrifice on the battlefield, Company Quartermaster Havildar Abdul Hamid further enriched the glorious tradition of the Indian Army. The Lok Sabha Speaker said the nation will always remember his valour and sacrifice.
