World Circular Economy Forum 2026 To Begin Today At Gandhinagar In Gujarat

The prestigious ‘World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026’ is set to begin today at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The conference which is being held for the first time in South Asia, will be jointly inaugurated by Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Held under the theme ‘Circular Economy: Transition for People and Prosperity,’ the event will gather over 2,000 stakeholders from more than 65 countries.

The stage is set at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar for the World Circular Economy Forum 2026, marking a major milestone in promoting sustainable economic transitions across South Asia. The forum aims to drive global circularity by emphasising the reuse, refurbishing, and recycling of materials to reintegrate them as valuable economic resources.

Across the two days, the forum will host 4 plenary sessions and 16 thematic sessions covering key areas such as the application of AI, green energy, sustainable finance, governance, and the start-up ecosystem.

Additionally, an international expo featuring over 125 exhibitors will showcase innovative, practical solutions for circular business models. The global event is jointly organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Central Pollution Control Board, Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, and the Government of Gujarat. Union Minister of State for Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh and Finland’s Environment Minister Sari Multala will grace the valedictory session tomorrow, which will be followed by 80 accelerator sessions hosted globally on September 17th and 18th.
