The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rainfall today over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Moderate to heavy rainfall is also expected during the day in places over Bihar, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

The IMD has also predicted thunderstorms and lightning conditions today over Bihar, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Similar weather conditions are also expected to prevail over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Telangana.

The Met Department has also forecast thunderstorms today in places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Vidarbha.
