Three rusted explosive shells recovered, destroyed in Samba

Samba,  KNT: Three rusted explosive shells were recovered from Palath village in Samba district and safely destroyed by a bomb disposal squad, officials said.

The unexploded ordnance was recovered after locals alerted authorities about the presence of the shells in the forward village.

Officials said the shells were suspected to have been left behind from cross-border shelling several years ago.

A bomb disposal squad was subsequently called to the site and safely defused and destroyed the shells, officials said.

No casualties or damage to property were reported in connection with the recovery. [KNT]
