The Sports Ministry has removed para-shooting coach Jai Prakash Nautiyal from India’s contingent for the Para Asian Games amid allegations of selection irregularities and demands for an investigation. Long-serving national coach Jeevan L. Rai will replace him.

The ministry has also approved 166 athletes for the Para Asian Games, which will begin on October 18 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. India won a record 108 medals, including 27 gold, at the previous edition of the Para Asian Games, crossing the 100-medal mark for the first time.
