Woman Dies After Falling Unconscious in Handwara Orchard

Handwara, KNT: A 58-year-old woman died after falling unconscious at an orchard in the Bagatpora area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Mugli Begum, wife of late Mohammad Hayat Sofi, a resident of Nagranad who was presently living at Kachwari in Handwara.

According to officials, she fell unconscious at her orchard near Bagatpora late Tuesday evening. Police reached the spot and shifted her to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation. The cause of her death had not been established at the time of filing this report. [KNT]
