Admin to inspect 250 schools for conversion in health centers
The administration in Kashmir directed officials of the education department to inspect as many as 250 government schools for the use as government health centres.
The decision days after the reports merged that school education department is going to merge more than 700 schools which are reeling under disproportionate student enrollment.
Reports said that the directions have been passed to the Chief Medical Officers of Kashmir to have physical inspection of the school by the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir. A circular in this regard has been issued by the Dr. M A Rather, Director of Health Services Kashmir.
“All the Chief Medical Officers of Kashmir Division are enjoined upon to constitute a team of officers, which need to include member from planning side as well as an expert, who will have physical inspection of school buildings, as per the list enclosed of their respective Districts and oversee suitability of these school buildings, so that these buildings can be used as Government Health Care Centers”, the circular reads.
The report of the team(s) should reach to the undersigned within five days positively, it added. The number of schools that is be inspected include 18 from Anantnag, 68 from Baramulla, three from Bandipora, 16 from Ganderbal, two from Kulgam, 13 from Kupwara, 27 from Pulwama, 33 from Shopian, 27 from Budgam and 42 from Srinagar.
