Sensex gains 333 points; Nifty advances 113 points

Indian equity benchmarks started the week with positive note this morning. While Asian bourses fell driven by the deepening energy crisis in Europe and wave of monetary tightening across the world.

The 30-share BSE Sensex index gained 333 points in early trade, and the broader NSE Nifty-50 index advanced 113 points to 17,677.

The biggest gainers on the Nifty 50 index in the early trade were Vodaphone Idea, Excide industries and  Federal Bank.
