Sensex gains 201 points, Nifty adds 38 points to trade at 17,602

The Sensex and the Nifty today witnessed modest gains in the afternoon trade. Both indices rose even as the cues from global share markets were negative.

The Sensex was trading above 59,400 points while the Nifty was trading above 17,600 level.

The Sensex gained 201 points, or 0.34 percent, to trade at 59,404. The Nifty also added 38 points, or 0.22 percent, to trade at 17,602.
