Written exam for SI to be held in December: JKSSB

The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) on Thursday notified that the written exams for Sub Inspector (SI) posts will be held in the month of December.

The tentative dates for the written exam for the Sub Inspector post have been scheduled from 7th December to 20th December.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir this year has called for the recruitment of 1200 posts of Sub Inspector. Whereas, more than 90, 000 candidates had appeared for the said exam. The government then declared the result in the month of June.

However, after the result was announced, aspirants hit the street and alleged that fraud in the selection list. Later, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered an inquiry into the selection of police sub-inspectors.

A month later, the selection list was cancelled by the Jammu and Kashmir administration and LG Sinha recommended the CBI probe into the selection list as well. Later it was found, that the papers were sold for millions of rupees and it was found that dozens of people were involved.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board has now issued advance notice for conducting written examination/compute-based written test for the posts of Sub Inspector Home Department.
The JKSSB has also issued advance notice for Junior Engineer Civil (Jal Shakti Department).

The notification reads, “It is hereby notified for the information of aspirants/candidates that the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) is going to conduct Computer Based Written Test (CBT) for the posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) (Jal Shakti Department) and Sub Inspector (Home Department) as per the details mentioned in notification”.

All such candidates who have applied for the said posts are accordingly informed to participate in the Written Examination. The syllabus for the above posts has been notified by the Board earlier and is once again enclosed for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Jai Shakti Department and for the post of Sub Inspector (Horne Department), the notification reads.

This is an Advance Notice for information of concerned candidates. The final dates of examination, along with the schedule for downloading of Admit Cards shall be notified separately in due course of time, reads the notification issued by Reyaz Ahmad Malik, Controller of Examination Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board.
The tentative dates for the written exam for the Jal Shakti post have been scheduled from 5th December to 6th December.
