No proposal to privatise Indian Railways, says government

Government today clarified that there is no proposal to privatize Indian Railways. This was stated by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.

He also denied that the number of persons recruited through the Railway Recruitment Board have declined in recent years and the number of contractual employees is steadily increasing.
