Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday said that India is providing assistance to earthquake-hit Syria and Turkiye in the spirit of its age-old tradition of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

Highlighting the efforts made, the Ministry said that emergency relief materials comprising life-saving medicines, protective items and critical care equipment valued over seven crore rupees arranged and promptly dispatched to both the countries.

It said that under operation dost, the consignment consisted of 5,945 ton emergency relief material including 27 life-saving medicines were arranged within 12 hours of the first two earthquakes.

Later on 10th of February, two bigger consignments consisting of 72 critical care drugs for Syria and 14 types of medical and critical care equipment for Turkiye were sent.
