Man arrested in alleged molestation case

Srinagar, Aug 9, KNT: The Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested one person for giving a lift to a girl and then trying to molest her inside his vehicle in Srinagar.

Police said that an accused had given lift to a girl and later tried to molest her, but the girl resisted and he threw her off the car, causing injuries to her.

Police identified the accused as Uzair Hameed Mir, of Daulatabad Khanyar.

“He gave lift to the victim, tried to molest & when girl resisted he threw her from car,” police said adding that an FIR under stringent sections has been registered in Rainawari police station.

“The car used in the commission of the crime has also been seized,” police said. [KNT]
