Uttarakhand government to table and discuss Uniform Civil Code in the state Legislative Assembly

The Uttarakhand government will table and discuss the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state Legislative Assembly in Dehradun today.

The Business Advisory Committee gave its nod yesterday to table the Uniform Civil Code. Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami has urged the opposition to permit the presentation of the UCC draft in the House and to reserve their reactions until after reviewing its report. He emphasized the importance of avoiding the spread of uncertainty regarding the UCC.
