Tanvir Sadiq Seeks Transfer of Law and Order to Elected Government

National Conference leader Tanvir Sadiq Monday said that talks are underway with the Government of India to hand over law and order responsibilities to the elected government of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said once statehood is restored and law and order comes under the elected government, individuals involved in lesser crimes will be released.
Tanvir Sadiq expressed optimism about the talks, acknowledging that progress may take time. He also congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their mandate, which has enabled the government to fulfill four major promises so far. These include the resolution on special status in the J&K Legislative Assembly, the resolution on statehood in the cabinet meeting, reversing the academic session from March to November, and age relaxation.

The legislator from Zadibal said that the  Omar Abdullah-led government is committed to providing relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
