Sensex falls 286 points, Nifty drops 77 as realty, metal, private banks drag markets

The benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading around 0.3 per cent down in the forenoon trade today, dragged by realty, metal and private bank sectors.

The 30-share BSE Sensex lost 286 points, to 83 thousand 773, and the NSE Nifty50 dropped 77 points, to 25 thousand 561, when reports last came in.
