Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations, Zanskar archery meet blends tribute and talent

Zanskar ,  ANB,  As part of the lead-up to Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025, the Indian Army, in association with local authorities and Metro Zone Group, Indore, hosted the Zanskar Archery Competition from 25 to 27 June in Padum, Zanskar Valley.

Organized as a vibrant homage to the heroes of the Kargil War, the event also celebrated regional unity and skill. Over 20 teams from Suru and Zanskar Valleys competed with enthusiasm, displaying exceptional precision, teamwork, and a growing enthusiasm for modern archery.

Team Horker Poye from Kargil claimed the Championship Trophy, while the top three individual archers were all from Zanskar Valley—highlighting the area’s rising prominence in the sport. Army, in association with local authorities and Metro Zone Group, Indore, hosted the Zanskar Archery Competition , The event drew strong community participation, reflecting the enduring relationship between the Indian Army and the people of the region.

Beyond its competitive spirit, the competition served as a platform for cultural connection, youth engagement, and the celebration of local identity. Officials emphasized the significance of such initiatives in both commemorating the valour of India’s soldiers and fostering positive avenues for youth development and national pride. ANB
