J&K begins process to establish Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence
Srinagar, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has initiated the process for establishing an Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence in the Union Territory, the Legislative Assembly was informed on Thursday.
The proposed center will include AI laboratories, computing infrastructure, incubation and innovation facilities and support for research, skill development and creation of AI-based solutions.
The Information Technology Department provided the details in response to a starred question raised by National Conference MLA Tanvir Sadiq.
The government said promotion of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies forms part of its wider digital transformation and technology-driven development initiatives.
The proposed center is expected to provide an institutional platform for research, training, innovation and development of technology applications relevant to governance and other sectors. [KNT]
