17 Critical Care Blocks being established across J&K

Srinagar,  KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government is establishing 17 Critical Care Blocks across the Union Territory to strengthen emergency and critical-care services, particularly in remote and difficult areas, the Legislative Assembly was informed on Thursday.

The government said the facilities are being established under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.

Of the 17 blocks, 15 will have a capacity of 50 beds each, while two will have a capacity of 100 beds each.

The government said measures were also being taken to strengthen emergency response through additional ambulances, manpower, medical evacuation facilities and telemedicine support in areas where access to advanced medical services remains difficult.

The information was provided in response to a starred question raised by MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma regarding healthcare facilities in remote areas. [KNT]
