Open Mughal Road for traffic : Shafiq Mir
POONCH. August 27: Questioning the continues closer of Historic Mughal Road when traffic activities have been resumed in all routes, Shafiq Mir chairman All J and K Panchayat Conference has demanded the immediate opening of Mughal Road which the only surface link between Jammu and Kashmir regions. Mir asks, when all airports have been opened railway movement resumed and all traffic routes have been opened in Jammu and Kashmir why only Mughal road has been kept closed?
In a statement here, Mir who is also Block Development Council Chairman block Bufliaz of district Poonch said that due to the closer of Mughal Road the people of Poonh- Rajouri were facing lot of Problems. Even a patient of critical health problems who wants to be treated at SKIMS is forced to travel 500 kms via Jammu to reach Srnagar though from Poonch to Srinagar it is only 80 Kms distance . Not only this, this the only alternate traffic route between Jammu and Srinagar . The Jammu Srinagar highway remains often closed due to landslides due to which the people remain stranded in the mid way . “ If we have alternate route why we have kept it closed, said Mir. Appealing the lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir and Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, Shafiq Mir said that this road should be opened as early as possible with all Covid SOPs in place.
