Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) a frontal organisation of Kashmiri Pandits working for the welfare of displaced Kashmiri’s in general and for the Valley Posted Migrant Employees in particular appealed to the honourable advisor to His Excellency Lt. Governor Shri K K Sharma through a press release, that Govt. should not compel the hapless package employees working in valley for the National interests.
Expressing alarm over rising infections, the World Health Health Organisation (WHO) also declared the coronavirus crises a pandemic is defined as the worldwide spread of a new disease, which killed millions globally. Under such circumstances how come PM package and non PM package employees join their respective duties in Kashmir Valley, when they have not been given proper independent and separate accommodation by the Government under rehabilitation scheme? This was discussed by the various employees working in valley under the young and dynamic leadership of Pt. R. K. Bhat, President YAIKS and coordinator North India GKPD, who is spearheading the PM’s employment package for displaced youth of the KP community
Pt R K Bhat said that for last 10 years the Government has miserably failed to rehabilitate and protect the fundamental rights of some valley posted migrant employees, how come they talk for the return of whole community. The various employees working under PMs Rehabilitation scheme in Kashmir Valley are putting up in different transit accommodations on overcrowded sharing basis and some are staying on rented accommodation outside the migrant camp locations. It’s pertinent to mention here that in a single set accommodation given by the Govt. to these hapless employees, where 8-10 persons are living together including new born babies, school going children’s, ladies and old aged ailing parents, sharing common Kitchen, common washroom and other surroundings. Due to lack of independent accommodation for various employees the situation for them is worrisome and all time risky under present pandemic. In this situation, it’s not possible for them to maintain COVID-19 SOPs and are feeling highly vulnerable, unhygienic and unsafe.
Under such circumstances, the authorities are informed and requested not to force such employees of education department to resume their duties as and when decide till the pandemic time is over and they may be allowed to continue with the ongoing online classes from their Jammu homes till the COVID 19 situation gets improved. In this regard the request letter has been already send to the concerned departments well in time, the release added.
