Govardhan Puja is being celebrated in different parts of the country today. Govardhan Puja is celebrated a day after Diwali. In Uttar Pradesh, Govardhan puja is being celebrated religious fervor especially in Mathura and Vrindavan area.
Foreigners, locals as well as pilgrims from all over the country are worshiping lord Krishna at various temples of Mathura Vrindavan on the occasion of Govardhan pooja. Devotees are also doing the historic ”parikrama” of sacred hillock Govardhan. Devotees are offering lavish chhappan bhog to the god and make the hillock of cow dung called gobardhan. People also decorate their cows on this occasion.

In Chitrakoot today famous lathmaar diwari and folk dance will be performed. Here unique donkey fair will be organised on the banks of the Mandakini river.

In Lucknow sky is full with colourful kites from morning itself as people here traditionally celebrate Jamghat on the next day of Diwali.
