Amid lockdown, J&K sees 7 deaths 6,253 fresh cases
Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported seven deaths and a surge of 6,253 fresh COVID-19 cases pushing the number of active cases to 42,866. The spurt in deaths and positivity comes at a time when the entire UT is under tight weekend lockdown that commenced on Friday afternoon. The spike in the cases has pushed the positivity rate to 8.36% and bed occupancy to almost 11%.

With seven more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,605 and 6,253 fresh positive cases reported on Sunday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 397,202. Of the exact number of 397,202 cases, 251,249 are from Kashmir division and 145,953 from Jammu division.
Among the people who died from the Covid in Jammu region included two from Jammu district and one from Kathua district. The deceased in Jammu included- a female of 72 years of age from Gandhi Nagar area and a male patient of 79 years from Paloura who was fully vaccinated died today.
