Revenue official arrested by ACB
The J&K’s Anti Corruption Bureau on Friday arrested a revenue official in Kashmir while allegedly accepting a bribe.
Acting on a complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught Abdul Majid Bhat, Patwari, Halqa Goom, Pattan in Baramulla district red handed while accepting the bribe.

A spokesperson for the ACB said the complainant had alleged that the accused had demanded Rs.20,000 for preparing and providing revenue extracts required by him.
The complainant stated that some ten years back he had purchased two Kanals of land at Goom, Ahmadpora, Pattan but he could not prepare the sale deed at that time therefore about six months back the complainant approached the Patwari for revenue extracts of the land.
The Patwari later demanded a bribe, the complainant alleged. Immediately upon receiving the complaint a case was registered at Police Station ACB Baramulla and investigations started.
“Subsequently, a trap team was constituted and the accused patwari was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant,” ACB said
The accused was arrested and further investigations in the case are going on.
