Mission Youth Govt frames task force to absorb youth in pvt sector

Focused to provide employment to the youth by promoting skill development the Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a 15-member task force Under Mission Youth to achieve the goal.
The committee has to be headed by the Finance Commissioner, Department of Finance.

“The committee framed will work towards providing employment to the youth in 225 sectors identified under Mission Youth,” official sources said.

Sources said that the task force members will decide and focus on grooming of youth keeping in mind the prevailing requirement in the industrial sector.

“Besides, focus is also being laid in the direction of getting the youth employed in the private sector,” they said.
Official sources said that the order of framing high-level task force issued by Principal Secretary Manoj Kumar Dwivedi will also have administrative secretaries of the Department of Housing, Animal Husbandry, Tourism, Horticulture, Agriculture, Public Works, Industry, Education, Transport, Forest, Rural Development along with the Chief Executive Officer of Mission Youth, Jammu Power Development Corporation and Kashmir Power Development. “Under Mission Youth, 20,000 youth are to be given skill development training and with their help, they will be able to get employment in the private sector,” they said.

For this, they said that a job portal is being developed on the lines of the National Career Service, adding, “with this initiative, youth will be able to directly apply for jobs in the corporate sector. The administration is also in a mode of spending Rs.200 crores in Mission Youth with a bid to train the youth and generate employment for them.”

“The government has also made arrangements to make the Overseas Employment Corporation active with the promotion of youth start ups in Jammu and Kashmir,” said an official adding, “entrepreneurship development will be promoted in Mission Youth programme under banks will provide loans under Mudra and other schemes and the innovation centers will be set up in degree colleges after polytechnic colleges.”
