Capacity of daily registration on e-Shram portal increases to 80 lakh per day: Govt

The government today said the capacity of daily registration on e-Shram portal has been increased to 80 lakh per day.

In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav said the e-Shram portal was initially designed to have a daily registration capacity of 10 to 15 lakh per day. The portal was launched in August last year to create a National Database of the Unorganised Workers in the country.

He said, however, the portal received unprecedented response from unorganised workers and the actual load increased beyond the initial designed capacity.

Mr Yadav said, one of the main objectives of the e-Shram portal other than registration is to facilitate delivery of benefits of social security schemes to the unorganised workers through integration with other government portals.
