Jammu, August 12, 2022: Team HemAth, a well-known social organisation based in USA talks about its new programme "Wata Havuk", a special programme designed to help the underprivileged women of Kashmiri Pandit community living in exile.
In our series of #The Right Conversation with Team HemAth, Bharti Kaul interacts with the ladies at the helm of HemAth and finds how their new programme can help the young displaced Kashmiri pandit women in Jammu and rest of India.
Shakun Malik, Founder CEO of HemAth is a physician by profession specialising in Oncology and has remained the president of Kashmir Overseas Association (KAO) for two terms.
Shakun Malik while deliberating about HemAth’s “Wata Havuk” said that she has been visiting India particularly Jammu where she organised some medical camps and after serving her term at KOA, she decided to create something to help the underprivileged women of her community which gave birth to HemAth and now “Wata Havuk”
She says that all of her team mates are volunteers who work for the welfare of the community to contribute their bit towards the displaced community.
Sharda Cherwoo is programme director of HemAth and a gold medallist in CPA examination. She is the first women from Indian origin to be admitted to partnership to any of the top eight accounting firms of USA.
Talking about “Wata Havuk” Sharda Cherwoo informed that Wata Havuk is a 24-week programme where selected young girls from the community would get a personal mentor where One to One Monitoring will be provided by highly accomplished "Senior Global Leaders" and enhance their skills and explore possibilities for them and fine tune their hidden talents.
Anjali Raina is Project Manager HemAth besides being a researcher in MD Anderson, Texas USA. Anajali while explaining the implementation of the programme of Wata Havuk and said that their website https://hemath.org/ has all the information regarding their activities and asked young girls to log into the website before August 15 to apply for Wata Havuk where all the details are given.
She said that every young Kashmiri Pandit displaced girl living in Jammu in particular can apply and once they receive applications their team will sort out the most eligible girls and start the 24-week programme Wata Havuk where one to one monitoring will be done and all possible help provided to them.
