KPL held amid fanfare, cultural extravaganza in Gurugram
YWCCC defeats Sharda Cricket Club by 18 runs while Sharda Cricket Club, Gurugram defeats Sharda Club, Kashmir in kids and women section.
Anuj gets Man of the Match Award, Rahul UV of YWCCC gets Late Rajesh Raina (Bobraj) player of the tournament award while Santosh Bhat receives Late Vikram Koul Best Batsman award
Kashmir for Peace and Love (KPL) annual event was held here in Gurugram amid much fanfare followed by cultural extravaganza in which Yes We Can Cricket Club (YWCCC) defeated Sharda Cricket Club by 18 runs in the main draw while Sharda Cricket Club, Gurugram defeated Sharda Club, Kashmir in kids and women section.
Similarly, Rahul UV of YWCCC got Late Rajesh Raina (Bobraj) player of the tournament award while Santosh Bhat received Late Vikram Koul Best Batsman award during the event.

The event was followed upby a cultural extravaganza where KPL Haryanvi song by Haryanvi artists and Kashmiri Punjabi mix song by King Paul and Ghazala by Vishal Pandita and comedy show by Anil Chingari enthralled the audience.
The event started with the release of three white pigeons by Ah Joginder Sharma, former Indian Cricketer on inaugural day on 4th Nov which represented KPL Kashmir For Peace And Love a grand cultural evening was held at Apparel House Auditorium where numerous artists performed on stage in front of packed Audience.
Main attraction was KPL Haryanvi version song by Artists from Haryana and mix Kashmiri and Punjabi numbers by King Paul Singh and Ghazals by Our upcoming singer Mr. Vishal Pandita. The child artists also performed who had come from Jammu and various parts of Valley too. Humorous play about KPL was also staged by the artists from Jammu. Anil Chingari, well known comedian performed as usual and entertained the crowd. Cultural evening was attended by supporters, sponsors and community members of Gurugram. Amalgamation of Haryanvi folk with music from Sharda land was also performed by the young and budding artists.
After finalization of league Quarterfinal matches in first two days Semi-finals and Finals for the matches were held on 3rd Day i.e. 6th Nov 2022 at TERI Gram grounds which was witnessed live by community members and locals at the two Cricket Venues. Live commentary of the matches was broadcasted live throughout the day from Radio Shadra where well-known cricket commentator Mr. Ajay Kumar was present who had also been there at TERI Gram for the commentary of matches in other two days also.
Final matches for kids and women section were held noin time where in Women's section Sharda Cricket Club, Gurugram defeated Sharda Club from Kashmir
In kids section Team Rising U-16 Stars from Jagti, Jammu defeated Utsav Foundation Gurugram convincingly. For Senior/Veterans teams Saffron Cricket Club, Delhi defeated Aryan Cricket Club to take the cup for 2022 trophy and the rolling trophy which is the same trophy being given since inception of KPL in 2012.
For the main Draw competitive cricket league with larger schedule where 24 teams participated Ye We Can (YWC) Cricket Club defeated the Sponsors team Alcobrew Distilleries in a very tough and close match which went upto the last moment as the sponsors team was winning till last moment when a Hatrik from Anuj changed the complexion of the match. Mr. Anuj was declared man of the match for superb bowling performance and also was given a Special Trophy in Memory of Late Sq Ldr Sh. BL Sadhu ji who has been mentor and supporter of KPL for getting the community youth together for the cause related to Language, Culture and traditions which is very much required to be inculcated in the youth.
The Player of the tournament award was dedicated in the name of well-known community cricketer Late Rajesh Raina (Bobraj) whom we lost in Covid-19 and it went to Mr Rahul UV of Yes We Can (YWC) team,
Best Batsman award was given in memory of Late Vikram Koul who we also lost young during vivid days and it went to Mr. Santosh Bhat of Saffron Cricket Club, the KPL press release added. In Main Finals Yes We Can Cricket Club defended 175 runs target set by them against Alcobrew Distilleries who manages to score about 157 runs and we’re all out before the 20th hour. Prizes were distributed to all participants and special thanks for all the supporters and sponsors of the event.
