Science & Technology interventions by Government of India have proved to be game changer in improving quality of life of citizens
The Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India Professor Ajay Kumar Sood has emphasised that the Science and Technology interventions by the Government of India have proved to be the game changer in improving the quality of life of the citizens. He was speaking in Bengaluru on Saturday at the Dialogue 2023 seminar on expanding Science and Technology Horizon.
In his inaugural speech, Prof Sood said that Education, Science and Technology and Innovation are the four pillars to achieve 17 Sustainable development goals. The PM Science and Technology Advisory Council has come out with several initiatives to utilise Scientific tools and technologies to achieve these development goals. Prof Sood informed that One Health Mission coordinated by 11 ministries will roll out by June, One Health Institute is coming up in Nagpur, the Green Hydrogen Mission is working on clean energy, the cabinet note is getting ready for the National Livelihood Mission for the last mile connectivity and Quantum technology mission launched earlier will see its impact in improving the quality of life in the next five years.

He noted that Digital Public Infrastructure with digital payment gateway and Aadhar are the public sector innovations appreciated by the G20 Countries. He pointed out that the Deep Technology Start-up policy draft is ready for putting up to the Cabinet. This he said will be a game changer in promoting startups in the deep technology sector. The Manthan platform launched in August last year has helped resolve programme delivery-related problems faced by the Government through projects worth 3000 crore rupees with the Academia, Industries, Startups and small and medium enterprises. He pointed out that fundamental science, enabling technology and the business model with active participation from academia, industries, start-ups and civil society will harness National economy and growth.
