Snowfall in hilly areas and rain in plains likely to continue in North-West India during next two days
Snowfall in hilly areas and rain in plain areas of North-West India along with adjoining Central India will continue for the next two days. Indian Meteorological Department said that thunderstorm and lightning is likely today over North West India.
It said that heavy rain and snowfall accompanied with hail at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand is also likely today. IMD has forecast light rainfall accompanied with gusty winds over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh today.
The weather department said that light to moderate rainfall and snowfall will continue till Wednesday over Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura.
Dense to very dense fog conditions will continue to grip Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Assam Meghalaya and Odisha till tomorrow. Met department said, there will be a fall in minimum temperatures by two to four Degrees Celsius during the next three days over the plains of Northwest India.
Meanwhile, Delhi woke up to another unusually damp and gloomy February morning after an overnight spell of showers. Similar conditions would continue through the day. The weather conditions are likely disrupt air and rail services. Owing to rains, the Air quality of Delhi is witnessing slight improvement as it moved to the poor category with AQI recorded at 217 at 6 AM today.
