Associated News Bureau

Jammu and Kashmir is expected to experience light to moderate rain and snow showers over the next 48 hours.

According to the Weather Department, Snowfall is expected in the higher reaches of the region, particularly in areas such as Sadhna Top, Razdan Top, Gurez, Machil, and Phase 1 & 2 in Gulmarg, as well as Zojila Pass, Sinthan Top, Margan Top, and Peer Ki Gali.

According to the Associated News Bureau (ANB), while heavy snowfall is not expected in lower altitudes, light snowfall at places like Sonamarg and Gulmarg remains a possibility. In addition to the snow, light rainfall is also forecast in some of the plains in the region, though no significant spell of rain is anticipated.

A sharp dip in night temperatures is expected next week, with several parts of Jammu and Kashmir likely to experience the season’s first sub-zero temperatures. This drop in temperature will mark the beginning of a colder phase for the region. (ANB)
