Helmet mandatory for pillion riders, RTO issues stern warning
The Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kashmir has made helmets mandatory for both drivers and pillion riders on two-wheelers. Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, Regional Transport Officer, issued a stern warning, stating that violators will face fines and legal action.
The move follows the recent deadly Tengpora road accident, which tragically claimed two young lives. Since then, enforcement agencies have intensified crackdowns on traffic violators.
“We appeal to all motorists and pillion riders to adhere to the helmet culture,” said Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, RTO adding that road safety is their top priority, and they will strictly enforce traffic laws to prevent accidents. [KNT]
