Five persons held in drug trafficking case

Poonch, At least five persons were detained for alleged involvement in drug trafficking along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.
A police official said that acting on credible intelligence, a joint team of security forces and police launched a search operation in forward areas of Khari, Ajote, Degwar, Purani, Poonch, and Jernally Mohalla. The operation aimed to disrupt and dismantle the narcotics supply chain.
He said during the search, five suspects were taken into custody for questioning after unspecified quantities of contraband were seized from them. He said an investigation has been started and a case registered in this regard. [KNT]
