Srinagar District Admin. Launches Massive Anti-Drug Campaign Across Panchayats
SRINAGAR, : ANB: In a decisive move under the Drug-Free Jammu & Kashmir initiative, the District Administration Srinagar organized a series of intensive drug de-addiction awareness programmes across all Panchayats of Srinagar Block. The campaign aimed to educate the public about the hazards of drug abuse and inform affected individuals about available government support and rehabilitation schemes.
According to the News Service Associated News Bureau ANB that The initiative was carried out on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, and witnessed strong inter-departmental collaboration. Participating departments included Health, Police, Education, Social Welfare, Excise, and Rural Development.
Subject matter experts from each department led engaging sessions, providing insights into the social, psychological, and legal implications of drug addiction. The Education Department played a central role by facilitating school-level outreach, delivering focused awareness drives, and conducting counseling sessions for students.
Interactive Q&A sessions allowed community members to voice concerns, seek advice, and learn about rehabilitation pathways. The programmes also offered detailed information on government schemes and benefits available to individuals battling substance use disorders. This comprehensive awareness drive reaffirms the district administration’s commitment to creating a healthier, drug-free society through grassroots engagement and coordinated action. ANB.
