Army soldier injured in mine blast during patrol near LoC in Rajouri
Rajouri, KNT: An Army soldier was injured after a landmine exploded in a forward area near the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
According to officials, the incident occurred in the Keri sector when a patrol party was moving through a forward location close to the Line of Control. During the patrol, a landmine detonated, resulting in injuries to one soldier.
The injured soldier was immediately evacuated from the area and shifted to a medical facility for treatment. Officials said his condition is being monitored.
Officials explained that landmines are laid in forward areas as part of the anti-infiltration obstacle system. In some cases, these mines get displaced due to rainfall or soil movement, leading to accidental explosions during routine patrols. [KNT]
