Young soldier dies after sudden medical emergency in Kupwara

Kupwara,KNT: An Army personnel died following a sudden medical emergency in the Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, officials said.

The deceased soldier has been identified as Jitu Behra, aged 30. Officials said he reportedly collapsed while on duty in the Tangdhar area after experiencing a suspected cardiac episode.

Army authorities immediately initiated evacuation procedures, and the soldier was airlifted to Srinagar by a military helicopter for completion of medico-legal and administrative formalities. However, he was declared dead.

Officials said the exact cause of death will be determined after the completion of the required medical procedures. Further details are awaited. [KNT]
