Yellow Alert For Heavy Rain With Lightning & Thunderstorms Issued For Punjab & Haryana

The Chandigarh-based Met Department has predicted and issued a yellow alert of heavy rain with lightning and thunderstorms in most parts of Punjab and Haryana as well as in the union territory, Chandigarh, from Sunday JULY 5th to the 8th. Earlier, the department had predicted the same weather conditions of heavy rain for today and tomorrow as well.

Meanwhile, the fall in maximum temperatures has, although, given relief from heatwave conditions but the prevailing humidity is making people sweat.

The maximum temperature recorded in the last 24-hours in Punjab was 35.2 degrees Celsius at Ropar and 36.2 degrees Celsius in Haryana’s Sirsa. It was 33.6 degrees Celsius in Chandigarh. Whereas the minimum temperature recorded this morning was 25.2 degrees Celsius in Ballowal Sunkheri in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab and 21 degrees Celsius in Haryana’s Narnaul.
