Farooq Abdullah Reaches Out to Political Parties Ahead of Jantar Mantar Statehood Protest
Srinagar, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Friday said he has reached out to political parties in Jammu and Kashmir as well as leaders from across the country, inviting them to participate in the party’s proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on July 20 seeking the restoration of statehood.
Dr. Abdullah said invitations had been extended to political parties and prominent leaders across the country to join the demonstration, which is scheduled to coincide with the opening day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
The National Conference has maintained that the protest is aimed at pressing for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and garnering wider political support for the demand. [KNT]
