Policeman’s Killing Fallout: Houses of Two Alleged Active Militants Demolished in South Kashmir
Anantnag, KNT: Authorities overnight demolished the residential houses of two alleged active militants in separate operations in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, hours after a Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel was shot dead by suspected militants in the district.
The demolished structures belonged to Muhammad Haroon Ganie in Hasanpora village and Adil Ahmad Thokar in the Bijbehara area, officials said.
The action was carried out during the intervening night following the killing of a police constable, who was shot at close range by suspected militants in Anantnag on Wednesday. The attack triggered a massive security response across the district.
Officials identified Haroon Ganie and Adil Thokar as alleged active militants. Security has been heightened across south Kashmir, with intensified searches and area domination measures launched following the attack. [KNT]
