President Droupadi Murmu Says Viksit Bharat Will Only Be Possible With Quality Education; Confers National Awards On 48 School Teachers

President Droupadi Murmu today said that a Viksit Bharat will only be possible with quality education. Addressing the National Teachers Award 2026 in New Delhi, the President said that a society that respects their teachers is a progressive society in right terms.

President Droupadi Murmu today presented the National Teachers Awards in New Delhi. 48 selected school teachers from 27 States, seven Union Territories and six Organizations of the Central Government received the awards. The President also presented National Awards to teachers of 21 higher education institutions and polytechnics.

Twelve teachers and faculty members from central Higher Education Institutions, five from state universities, including three government and two private colleges and four from polytechnics, including two government and two private polytechnics, have been selected for the Awards. Short documentaries on each awardee depicting the exemplary work done by them were showcased at the event.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu today paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Dr S. Radhakrishnan, a distinguished philosopher, scholar and teacher, served as the Vice President of the country from 1952 to 1962 and as the President from 1962 to 1967.
