HC order stay on eviction drive

The Court has granted stay on the anti-encroachment drive carried out by the government. Judge Puneet Gupta has directed that till the next date of hearing before the Bench, the parties shall maintain the status quo in respect of the premises which are otherwise in occupation of petitioners.

The petitioners have pointed out that they have been in possession of the constructed buildings for so many years and are being thrown out by the government without adopting due process of law.
