People’s Hut Foundation organized “Feed the Hungry” program in GMC Hospital Jammu
With a mission to fight hunger and malnutrition among the economically underprivileged people, a J&K based non-governmental organization “People’s Hut Foundation’ distributes packed food to the needy and poor people through “Feed the Hungry Program”.

While talking to the media about the initiative, Director and CEO of the foundation Dr. Rohit Koul said, the underprivileged in India are often obliged with unhygienic leftover food because of which they do not get sufficient nutrition and even end up falling sick. Through our program we distribute Freshly cooked food in the form of Food Packets and are distributed to rag pickers, beggars, destitute individuals and families abandoned on the streets, as well as troubled daily wagers But with our “Feed the Hungry Program”, we are trying to change this by providing hygienically packed nutritious meal to them. During the current Food Drive which was from 25th to 28th March at Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, we distributed 501 Food Packets to the attendants of the patients along with Packaged Drinking water. No one deserves to go hungry. No matter what one’s financial, mental or physical condition may be, everyone deserves to receive enough food to at least survive. This is the sole purpose behind the Feed the Hungry Program, Dr. Koul added.

The program under our relief domain is currently serving children at traffic signals, unaided schools, schools for differently abled, people in slums, night shelters, old-age homes, hospitals, and construction sites Dr. Rohit Koul said. The food served to the needy includes lentils, vegetables, fruits, rice, chapati, and other nutritious food items including the packaged drinking water. On special occasions like festivals, the food includes special treats like sweets, chocolates, and cakes.

Rohin Raina, One of the team members of the foundation said, while most of us are lucky enough to only have experienced hunger for a while, it only takes that memory to know how distressing those pangs are. Under the Feed the Hungry Program of our NGO, you can support us with cooked food or even send across your choice of grocery items for the poor and can also support the NGO with your donations.
