2 Drug Peddlers Arrested with Contraband Substances & Prescription Medicine in Budgam: Police
Budgam, May 3: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday apprehended two drug peddlers with contraband substances and prescription medicine in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“Police station Beerwa conducted a successful operation against drug trafficking in the area, resulting in the arrest of two drug peddlers and the seizure of a significant quantity of contraband substances and Spasomin Pywon tablets”, reads a statement received here.
“During a routine check at Chewdara Meripora, the police intercepted a duo and found them in possession of illegal drugs and prescription medications. The duo identified as Ather Sadiq Najar and Gh Nabi Bhat, both residents of Chewdara Beerwah, were immediately taken into custody and charged with drug trafficking offences.”
“The seized contraband substances include charas-like substances. The police also discovered a significant quantity of Spasomin Pywon tablets, which are commonly used as a sedative and muscle relaxant. In this regard FIR No. 52/3023 U/S 8/20,22-29 NDPS Act registered in police station Beerwah”, reads the statement.
“Budgam police are grateful for the cooperation of the public and encourage anyone with information on drug trafficking to contact the authorities”, reads the statement further.
