In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, one terrorist was killed in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists in Chitragam area in Shopian district on Wednesday.
According to police, a joint team of Shopian police, Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force based on an intelligence input, laid a Cordon-and-Search-Operation in Chitragam area.
As the team approached towards the suspected spot, the terrorists fired upon them.
The joint team of security forces retaliated that resulted in the killing of One terrorist.
The identity of the slain terrorist is being ascertained. The joint operation was going on till the last reports came in. Details are awaited.
