Sensex, Nifty witness modest losses in afternoon trade

The Sensex and the Nifty today witnessed modest losses in the afternoon trade amid mixed global cues. The Sensex was trading below 60,200 points while the Nifty was trading near the 17,900 level.

The Sensex declined 135 points, or 0.22 percent, to trade at 60,126. The Nifty also slipped 55 points, 0.31 percent to trade at 17,901.
