President Droupadi Murmu to confer Padma Awards 2023 at second Civil Investiture Ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan
President Droupadi Murmu will confer Padma Awards for the year 2023 at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan today, April 5. The President had presented three Padma Vibhushan, four Padma Bhushan and 47 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2023 at the first Civil Investiture Ceremony, held on 22nd March.
The awards were conferred in the presence of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Home Minister Amit Shah, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and several other dignitaries. Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian awards of the country, are conferred in three categories, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, for excellence in various disciplines and fields of activities, such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service.
