Factory worker from Kerala dies in Srinagar, probe launched

Srinagar, KNT: A non-local labourer working at a factory in the Khanmoh area of Srinagar was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Friday, officials said.

An official said the man was found lying unconscious in his room at the cement factory premises in Khanmoh. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical assistance, where doctors declared him brought dead.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Kumar, son of Rajvan M K, a resident of Kerala, aged about 51 years. Officials said he was discovered unresponsive in his room before efforts were made to shift him to the hospital.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact cause of death. Medico-legal formalities have been set into motion, and further investigation is underway. [KNT]
